MEET THE TEAM
The People Behind AWS
Meet the People Helping Keep Scale Operations Moving
AWS brings together expertise in weighing technology, software, automation, implementation, and customer support. Our team works closely with customers to understand their unique scale operations, implement solutions that fit their needs, and provide ongoing support to keep their systems running efficiently and reliably.
Dan came to AWS 12 years ago with an electrical engineering degree and an unusual job description: sit between engineering and support and translate engineer into normal human. He has worked most of the jobs here since, from installations and project management to product design, account management, and sales. Today he is focused on the dealer network, partnerships, and where the business goes next, built on the same foundation more than 1,700 customers and resellers have trusted.
Outside of work he and his wife Lindsey have three kids, two dogs, and a lot of weekends on a soccer sideline. He also coached high school basketball, and was an assistant on a state championship team.
Ben joined AWS in 2021 as a Software Developer and has worked across most of the company’s software since, from the on-premise scale management platform to the cloud platform, the unattended kiosk, and the internal tools that keep the company running. Today Ben leads the Engineering team and also runs AWS’s internal IT, which means working both sides of the same question: building the product customers run every day, and keeping the systems and security behind it running quietly in the background.
Outside of work, Ben’s household includes a wife, a dog, a few cats, and several tanks of fish. Free time goes to building things, whether woodworking, 3D printing, machining, or the next renovation project around the house.
Cher joined AWS in 2015 as a Systems Integration Specialist and spent the first few years building technical experience on the integration side. From there Cher moved into management, taking on more leadership as the company split Systems Integration and Support into separate teams, and built many of the processes the Support team still runs on today. Cher now manages the Support team, focused on how the team works and on the quality of help customers get when they call.
Outside of work, Cher spends as much time outdoors as possible, especially fishing and hunting. In early 2025 Cher became a parent to a son, and calls it one of the most rewarding roles yet.
Josh has been with AWS for 15 years. He started in System Integration and Support, working with project teams, engineering, and customers to configure, test, and install systems built around each customer’s needs. Today he is the Production Manager, leading the team that builds AWS’s products and keeping that work on schedule. He focuses on developing his team, managing resources, and improving both processes and design across operations.
Outside of work, Josh spends time with his wife and two daughters, and gets outdoors as often as he can for hunting, fishing, hiking, and biking.
Kevin has been with AWS for 22 years. He started as a hardware installer and technical support specialist, which gave him hands-on experience with the equipment and the troubleshooting behind it. From there he moved into project management, overseeing hardware builds, technical support, and a long list of customer projects. Today he manages every new software and hardware project at AWS and leads the team of project technicians who carry them out, setting priorities and keeping each one on schedule.
Outside of work, Kevin and his wife Ann spend as much time as they can in the woods with their dogs, especially at their family cabin in the Northwoods. He also competes in ultra-distance trail races, both running and on a mountain bike.
